The new ways of being family

The passage of time has allowed the evolution of societies in multiple aspects, economic, political and cultural development is something that is open to everyone. This influenced the evolution of modern life and at the same time has transformed the way of making family. The configuration of a patriarchal home, in which the father fulfills the role of provider and the mother is in charge of the upbringing of children was common even at the end of the 90s.

The machismo and the cultural factor, helped to keep the family under this structure of patriarchy, that although it brought benefits in the upbringing of children and fostered family life, on the other hand, it limited the personal development of the mother. However, the accelerated development of capitalism meant that, instead of a salary, two were needed to maintain a house.

    

This social development, which allowed the "economic independence" of the woman or mother, is accompanied by the transformation of the family paradigm and the head of the household. Another example that helped with the transformation of families is the divorce law passed in 2004 in Chile, which allowed those who were held captive to be freed to keep the idea of ​​family under the figure of marriage. Giving way to other ways to structure the bond, with single mothers and fathers and even the acceptance of homosexual mothers and fathers.

Globalization and technological development have allowed a liberation and an awareness in respect, however, it is a tool that isolates. The easy access to new technologies affects interpersonal relationships and the family nucleus is not oblivious to this global phenomenon, it is at this point that we must work. Because, in what I do agree, is that the family, regardless of its structure and form, is the pillar of society.
